Carol Milne
"Lost Wax Threesome"
May 30 - June 4 (6-day workshop)

In this 6-day class you will turn wax into glass using the lost wax casting technique to create glass sculpture.

Three projects will be undertaken:
1. A freestanding knitted glass sculpture.
2. A solid ½" thick textured vessel.
3. A multi-colored bas-relief tile with loops or fiber texture.

Size will be limited to 8"cube.  All levels are welcome, but beginners be prepared to be challenged.

This class meets from 9am to 5pm each day, Tuesday through Sunday, with additional studio time Tuesday through Saturday, from 5pm to 9pm.

Carol Milne is the lone pioneer in the field of knitted glass. In 2006 she combined her passion for knitting with her love for cast glass sculpture and developed a process for creating glasswork that simulates fiber.  She received a degree in landscape architecture at the University of Guelph, Canada, but in her thesis project studying Art in the Landscape, she realized she was more interested in sculpture than landscape. She has been working as a sculptor ever since.  Her creations can be found in the numerous collections including museums in the United States, Germany, France, and Japan.
